Managing Media Items

To manage media content, hover over the media item, click the Dotted Menu, and select one of the available options:

  • Preview - Have a quick look at the selected media item without leaving the current page. This helps you confirm if it is the right file before proceeding with any actions.
  • Move to - Organize your content by relocating it to a different folder within your collection. This is particularly useful for maintaining a structured arrangement of your media files.
  • Settings - Access and adjust specific settings related to the selected media item. Depending on the content type, the settings may include privacy settings, sharing settings, or display preferences (see Configuring Settings).
  • Duplicate - Create a copy of the selected media item. This enables you to use a similar file without altering the original or when you need to replicate content across different sections.
  • Download - Download the selected media item to your local device. This allows you to work on the file offline or share it through other platforms.
  • Rename - Give a new name to the selected media item. Renaming helps you maintain clarity and organization within your collection, especially when dealing with multiple similar files.
  • Delete - Permanently remove the selected media item from your collection. Exercise caution while using this option, as deleted items are not recoverable.

Configuring Settings

The settings enhance the metadata associated with your media content. This makes your content more informative, searchable, and available to your audience. Whether it is adjusting titles, adding descriptions, tagging, or ensuring usability through alt text, these settings contribute to an improved user experience.

To configure media item settings:

  1. Click the Dotted Menu of the media item and select Settings.
  2. Update the title of the selected media item. The title is an essential component that provides context and helps users understand the subject matter of the content.
  3. Add or modify a description for the media item. Descriptions provide additional information, such as the content purpose, relevance, or other details that enhance understanding.
  4. Click + Add Tag and attach relevant tags to the media item. Tags are keywords or labels that make searching for and categorizing content easier. They improve SEO and organization.
  5. Provide alternative text (alt text) for images. Alt text is crucial for usability as it is read aloud by screen readers for visually impaired users. It describes the content of the image, ensuring everyone can understand it.
  6. Click Save Changes.
