The Category Name widget is a component that you can place at the top of a category list to display the name of the respective category. This widget, by default, takes the value you have entered in the Name field of the Dashboard > Products > Categories section.
It is designed to be positioned at the top of a category list page. You must drop the Product List to access the Category Name widget. When you create a new category, a corresponding category page is generated in the Visual Editor; afterward, you need to add the widget to display the category name on your website.
Adding a Category Name Widget
To add a Category Name widget:
- Go to the Visual Editor by clicking Design on the Dashboard top panel or by navigating from Dashboard > Channels > Design.
- Navigate to the category page from Pages > Ecommerce > Category.
- Go to the Widgets list on the Visual Editor Left Panel.
- Type the widget name in the search bar, or expand the Ecommerce > General Widgets/Product Common Widgets groupings to access the Category Name widget.
- Drag and drop the widget onto the Layout Canvas.
Configuring the Category Name Widget
Once you have added the Category Name widget, you can modify its Styles (see Global Styles) and Settings (see Visibility Settings). To design the appearance and behavior of the widget, activate the Property Panel by clicking it.
- Go to Styles to make the required configuration of general styling features (see Global Styles) to achieve the desired visual and functional outcomes.
- Go to Content and enable the With Link toggle to control whether a URL should navigate to the category page.
- Go to Settings and modify the widget visibility on your website. Select who can view the widget according to the customer’s location, session status, type of used device, browser, language preference, etc. (see Visibility Settings).
